Coming soon – the Riese & Müller Veya

A properly light Riese & Müller

The Veya is an all-new range for 2027, and a real shift for a brand whose bikes have always prioritised solidity over saving grams: a fully equipped e-bike that starts under 20kg.

That figure includes the things you actually need – lights, mudguards and a pannier rack – not a stripped-back showroom build. If you’ve tried a Riese & Müller before and found it more bike than you wanted to lift onto a car rack or carry up a flight of stairs, this is the one you’ve been waiting for.

Pricing starts from £4,119, with bikes arriving in the first quarter of 2027. We’re expecting a demonstrator early in the new year.

Register your interest and we’ll let you know the moment a demo lands in Carnforth.

What we know so far

Frames and sizes

Two frame shapes: the sporty diamond-frame Veya and the low step-through Veya Open. Both come in four sizes from S to XL, in dusty purple, magnesium or slate grey.

Four builds

  • light – Bosch Performance Line SX motor with a Shimano Cues 10-speed derailleur – the lightest of the range
  • silent – Bosch Performance Line PX with a Shimano Alfine 8-speed hub and belt drive – quiet and low-maintenance
  • vario – Bosch Performance Line CX with an Enviolo stepless hub and belt drive – the most powerful motor in the range
  • touring HS – Bosch Performance Line Speed with a Shimano Cues 11-speed derailleur – a 45km/h speed pedelec, which in the UK is classed as a moped and needs registration and insurance, so do talk to us before setting your heart on this one

Batteries

A removable 360Wh battery is standard, with a 600Wh option if you’d rather have range than the lowest possible weight (the touring HS gets the 600Wh as standard). A 250Wh PowerMore range extender is also available.

Equipment

A pannier rack is standard, with Riese & Müller’s MIK HD carrier (27kg capacity) as an option, and a maximum permitted weight of 140kg. A suspension kit and comfort upgrades are on the options list. The RX Chip is built in as standard – GPS tracking, a motion alarm and trip recording – with the first year of ConnectCare cover included.
