ABUS HYP-E
The HYP-E is ABUS’s entry point to their smart helmet range – and it’s far from basic. Integrated front and rear lights, wireless indicators and a handlebar remote come as standard, giving you genuine 360° visibility without bolting anything onto the outside of the helmet.
Why this helmet?
If you want the core lighting system without the full BL.ACE package, the HYP-E is the one. You get the same integrated front light, rear light and wireless indicator system controlled from a handlebar-mounted remote. Other road users can see your turning intentions clearly, day or night.
Six light modes – steady, power, flow, pulse, flash and eco – let you balance brightness against battery life. ABUS rates the battery at a minimum of two hours in continuous mode and over 40 hours in flash mode, charged via USB-C in around four hours.
The HYP-E is also NTA 8776 certified, meaning it’s tested at higher impact speeds than standard helmets – exactly the kind of protection you want when riding an e-bike. It won the Eurobike Award in 2024 for good reason.
