You can save money buying an e-bike through your employer
The Cycle to Work Scheme allows you to pay for a new e-bike directly from your salary in 12 or 24 monthly instalments, before tax is deducted. This means you can save up to 39% of the cost of your bike, and spread the payment across a year or more.
Although the scheme is managed by the Government, it is facilitated through private organisations, and there are quite a few of them! We’re registered with all of the key ones we know about, but if your employer uses one we’re not registered with, we’ll happily do our best to get that sorted.
So how much will your bike cost you?
Several of the providers have handy calculators so you can find out what your bike will cost using their service. View gogeta’s calculator here, Green Commute Initiative’s here, and Cyclescheme’s one here.
What if my employer isn’t registered with Cycle to Work?
Not everyone is aware of the Cycle to Work Scheme, but employers who don’t offer it are usually happy to register for it. It’s low-risk to them and is a great benefit for them and their teams. All of the scheme providers have advice and information for employees who work at companies that don’t yet offer the benefit through them.
