Before Christmas, something pretty special rolled into our workshop – a 10-year-old Gazelle e-bike that’s been through a decade of daily commutes. The owner was worried it might be time to retire it, but after a thorough check-up, we had it humming again with just a few minor replacements. It’s moments like these that remind us why we’re so passionate about quality e-bikes. They’re not just purchases; they’re long-term investments in sustainable transport.
Staying dry: new all-weather solutions
Speaking of sustainable transport, we’ve got some exciting news for those of you braving the British weather on your cargo bikes (we see you out there, rain or shine!). Riese & Müller has released their new weather protection system for the Multicharger and Multitinker models, and it’s pretty clever stuff. The cover bolts securely to the safety bar and can be folded forward for easy access. What I particularly love about this design is that they’ve thought about the little details – tinted windows with UV protection for the kids, side walls that roll up when it’s warm, and the whole thing can lie flat when you’re just carrying cargo. No more wrestling with temporary covers in the wind!
Smart updates: your battery’s new best friend
And speaking of clever features, Bosch has rolled out a fantastic update to their Flow app. You know that nagging “will I make it home?” feeling that sometimes creeps in during longer rides? Their new Range Control feature uses artificial intelligence to give you a much more accurate picture of your battery range. It learns from your riding style and route elevation to help you plan better, and ensure you don’t run flat. One of our customers was testing it last week and said it was like having a smart co-pilot looking after your battery.
