Most helmets protect your head. The HYP-E BL.ACE protects your whole ride. ABUS has packed integrated front and rear lights, wireless indicators and a brake light into a helmet that still looks sharp and wears comfortably – no aftermarket clip-ons, no cables, no compromises.

Why this helmet?

The BL.ACE is the top-spec version of ABUS’s HYP-E range, and it’s aimed squarely at e-bike commuters who ride in traffic. The headline feature is the full lighting system: front light, rear light, wireless indicators controlled from a handlebar remote, and a brake light that activates automatically when you slow down. Other road users can see what you’re doing before you do it.

Six light modes – steady, power, flow, pulse, flash and eco – let you balance brightness against battery life. ABUS rates the battery at a minimum of two hours in continuous mode and over 40 hours in flash mode, charged via USB-C.

Sizes overlap, so if you’re between two, try both. The Zoom Spin dial gives a good range of adjustment within each size.

Three colours

Available in Gleam Silver, Volcano Titan and Signal Yellow. The silver and titan are understated enough for everyday wear; the yellow is for riders who want maximum visibility on top of the lighting system.
